The AGM 2013 Empty Re: The AGM 2013

The AGM was held on Saturday and the salient points were as follows:

1) It was confirmed that there will be no club relegated from the Premier Division
2) Only 2 clubs, Brightlingsea and Newmarket to be promoted
3) Dereham promoted to Ryman League
4) Wisbech and Godmanchester moved sideways into the UCL
5) Godmanchester do NOT want to move and have lodged an appeal with The FA which will be heard on 4th July. Until then, they remain as members of the Thurlow Nunn League
6) AFC Sudbury Reserves, Needham Market Reserves and Dereham Town Reserves were all elected to the first division, however Lowestoft Town Reserves were denied entry to the league as they did not subscribe to the agreement not to play contracted players in the TNL. The other three clubs DID subscribe to this agreement and were duly elected.
7) At the end of next season, the club that finishes bottom of the Premier Division WILL be relegated to division one with no possibility of a reprieve.
8)There were no cup draws made due to the uncertainty of the vote on admitting the reserve teams as shown above. The draws have now been made and are available to view on the League website at www.thurlownunnleague.co.uk
9) A motion was carried to allow the top three eligible clubs from division one to be promoted. This would avoid the situation that the League found itself in this season whereby CUP left the League, meaning that only two clubs could be promoted. Had this rule been in place then Ipswich Wanderers, who finished fourth would have been promoted. This is all the more salient as none of the reserve sides in division one can be promoted.
These are the main points from the meeting.

I should have added that ALL member clubs were contacted by the League a couple of months ago concerning the reserve division structure. There was a majority of clubs in favour of keeping the premier and first divisions as they were. However, with the withdrawal of some reserve teams and the election of the three into the senior division it means that geographically only Great Yarmouth and Gorleston are north of Diss and the league has decided to let these clubs discuss their continued membership of the reserve divisions.
The question of the extra work of the secretaries doesn't really come into things. Most clubs run a first and reserve team, so really no change for them. The league's registration and records officer will peruse team sheets as normal.
