Seems very odd that we play them mid week (Saffron Walden) and get hammered 4 1.
No first team fixture.

And they play against Yarmouth today (first team playing) & lose 8 nil.

Now i no they are not allowed to play contracted players but how many of there first team squad are actually contracted?
And by the way we drew 2 each with Yarmouth and one 6 nil today!
All a bit fishy to me.

I have never agreed with Reserve teams being in this Division for this very reason. Mid-week fixtures have, in my experience, always been 'a bone of contention' and for this reason, fixtures for these Reserve teams should be arranged for Saturdays anyway. 'Blood' and Saffron Walden have my sympathy for what it is worth!

Last year we played Braintree Res midweek & they were the best footballing side in the div 1 by a mile.
We managed to scrape a draw that night.
Then a couple of months later we played them on boxing day ( 1st team were playing Cam Utd that day)
and we stuffed a totally different team who were probably one of the poorest we played all season.

I guess that if your a div 1 side then you just hope when you play Braintree , Sudbury , Needham & Derham res sides that
there 1st teams are playing at the same time.

Having watched both games, I can confirm that there were no first team players playing on Wednesday night that beat saffron walden 4-1. Today's squad (against Yarmouth) had several changes due to players work commitments and holiday, though this shouldn't be any business of yours! It was simply a young, inexperienced side.
All players that have featured in the last two games have not played in the first team at all this season, it just seemed to be a bad day at the office, so to speak.

Don't forget that these reserve teams were elected into the League on the basis that there would be NO contracted players/regular first teamers playing in the TN first division. The league will be keeping an eye on their team sheets to see if there is anything untoward going on. I suspect not.
