I see Hadleigh have strengthened their squad by signing Richard Logan!
For a team that is miles clear of their nearest rivals at the top of the League, out of all Cups and have NOT applied for promotion, it seems like a big expense for little reward.
What do you think?

I know of a couple of replies we are sure to get!!

Admin, you are probably correct that their will be replies about him signing.

As a neutral supporter, it seems strange at this time of the season, that a Club in the position Hadleigh are in why sign another player of his standing, just to ensure you win the League Title, surely the Manager should have faith in the players that have got the Club into this league winning position. Or could Mr Crawford be looking at next season already ????

H.U.F.C Supporter, will probably say the " money tree " he comments about , has grow recently with all the rain we have had

Happy days it local football, and gives us something to comment about

UNBELIEVABLE, CRAZY what more can you say!!!!! Sad Mad Mad
I think that this goes to show that the Committee have got no balls & wont stand up to Mr Crawford.
We never even need Mr. Bramble at the club & look at all the bad feeling that has caused between certain sections at the club.
I was told the other day that HUFC needed to get to the Semi Finals of this years Vase to make as much money through prize money as they did last year. Well that has not happened & so like Sammy has said all that rain has helped his money tree at the back of the ground.
All this is being done by Mr. Crawford for Mr. Crawford & when a better offer comes along he will be gone & the small Committee that help keep HUFC running will be left to pick up the pieces!!
He wants to be able to go around saying look at me i am the most successful HUFC Manager ever. (ME,ME, ME)ll
Well when you are throwing the sort of money about that he is you should be!!

According to the Hadleigh website they are looking to raise funds for Ground Improvements.
Surely this money would be better spent on this, than another EX PRO, who is no doubt looking just to line his pockets??

Saw him play in an early Vase replay for Mildenhall v Newmarket, he was very poor off the pace etc, if someone had said he was an ex-pro I would not of said it was as a footballer ! He doesn't seem to stay anywhere long nowadays so this may not be his last club of the season, unless the present "offer" is too good to turn down. He will not improve the Hadleigh team in my opinion.

As I have been " kicking " round as a follower of local football since the late 80's .
I seem to recall Hadleigh spend out a lot of money some 20 years ago when they had a good run in the F.A.Vase, but as the money dried up, I think during the following season. At the end of that season The Manager left , players left .
The bubble had burst , is history about to repeat its self ???.

I hope not , as its sad to see a Club get into money woes. But hopefully the elected committee know what they are doing and have the interests of the Club at heart , but judging by H.U.F.C Supporters comments this may not be the case , lets see what happens when this season finishes and what occurs in the closed season

Dellwood,
I agree with you, Logan will not improve the side. It will only cause unrest & hit the team spirit, which so far this season seems to have been better than previous. since Crawford has been in charge.
How must J. Mayhew be feeling today, being the Clubs leading scorer this season & dropped to the bench yesterday with Logan taking his place?
This surely will hit his confidence, just like Ryan Stafford who from what i have seen & heard this season has been Hadleigh's best player by far, but as soon as Crawford signed Kelsey Trotter then Stafford was dropped to the bench & since then when he has appeared at Right Back seems to have lost all his confidence!
The only one now who can throw away the League Title for Hadleigh is Crawford himself by bringing in these so called BIG name signings!
Are the HUFC Committee & Crawford himself that stupid to think that Bramble, Logan etc will be about next season with the likes of Leiston, Lowestoft, Bury Town, AFC Sudbury, the list goes on likely to be offering them a higher level of football next season.
By then the loyal boys that have got Crawford to this position will more than likely have moved on & can you blame them?

" Adnams " article is an interesting read. Think J. Mayhew will be considering his future at Hadleigh as would any player in any team , especially as he is Hadleigh's leading goalscorer.

I see from the reports on Hadleigh's & the Green Un website , Mr Logan managed 45 minutes, one questions is he unfit , if so surely he should train harder to gain his fitness back or as already stated is he just there for the money !!

One other question I ask is " why did Needham Market release him ??? " , that said I see from Needham's website he did not fit into the Managers plans, but is he finding the Rymans league to hard to compete in.
As " Adnams " states if he gets fit will he still be at Hadleigh next season, or has he signed a " contract " with the hope that if another Club wants him , Hadleigh can ask for a transfer fee , to recoup some of their out goings

Well if Mr Crawford is busy upsetting team morale long may he continue, its probably the only chance we've got of catching them......now can somebody upset Brightlingsea players too?

Rick was fit (fitter than when he came to us anyway originally) as he trained with us last Tuesday and was fine before we released him to sign for Hadleigh (he was still registered to play for us).

Sometimes in football you need to realise when and where is the right time to move and the Needham one was not right for him as we said at the time. Yes he was off the pace when he signed but after two months he was playing well, a lot more mobile, scoring goals and had a smile on his face.

Sometimes these things give greater rewards than finance........

I am sure he will get his sharpness back and will probably have a big say in Hadleighs finsih to the season, one thing is for sure, we cannot knock how well they have done this season on the pitch whatever we think off it.

Applefootball

I am not concerned if Hadleigh win or indeed lose the league title, but reading the other posts on this matter , and certainly I did state , why does the Hadleigh manager need to sign more players. They have not applied for promotion to the Rymans league , and the only thing they can achieve is winning the league
So surely he should ( as I stated in earlier post ) have faith in the players he has , but its seems by signing Mr Logan he does not have this faith.
As "Adnams " has mentioned " I wonder how Josh Mayhew is feeling " ( pissed off I would be.) leading goal scorer and on bench for match at Thetford and then to cap it all not even on as a sub

Yes I could understand signing ( as would other clubs ) someone like Richard Logan , if you were going for promotion and or with a chance of getting to the F.A Vase final , but unfortunately for Hadleigh neither applies.

You mention " Needham " in your posting , its seems of late they have had bit of a " revolving door " situation , with players comimg and going, are they looking for a play off position & promotion, if so I can understand all the comings and goings

I like most would certainly comment on here if it was another club and not just Hadleigh,
Oh for the joys of local football , gives us something to comment on  Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Perhaps it is the change in weather, the sun is out and the Hadleigh money tree has dried up. If Josh Mayhew doesn't play he doesn't score and therefore no goal bonus paid, and maybe no appearance money. That said, what is it with Hadleigh and strikers ?!$*# Over the seasons under Mr Crawford, Craig Payne was leading goalscorer for two seasons but bombed out. Next you had Ben Deacon, again leading goalscorer for two seasons and also bombed. Now you have Josh Mayhew in a similar situation. Whatever you do, don't head the goal scoring charts at Hadleigh! I know Mr Crawford was a defender in his playing days but ....................

I see that both Josh Mayhew and Richard Logan were on the bench for Hadleigh against Godmanchester yesterday.

Hmmm........
What can i say after watching yesterdays lack luster performance???
A team playing as individuals & not as a team.
Bramble playing wide on the right with Canfer & Wright up front.
A group of players put under so much presure to WIN, WIN, WIN.
Some very unhappy players sitting on the bech wondering what they have to do to keep their place in the team, (Mayhew,Wardley & Barwick)
From what i saw yesterday & with only 2 home games remaining & some tough games away, Gorleston, Felixstowe & Walton, Kirkley & Pakefield, CRC & not forgetting Norwich United who have already beaten us this season, i can see Brightlingsea pipping Hadleigh to the title.
