Match attendance!!!

Whilst checking the results of Saturdays games on Mitoo, i was amazed at the 532 attendance posted at the Woodbridge Town and Stanway Rovers game. Can anyone confirm if this is correct or are the Stanway 'gremlins' at work again?

Perhaps the gent who used to work on the gate at Saffy Walden has got a new job.....

It was Woodbridge's annual 'youth day', when all members of the 18 youth teams and their parents were provided complimentary tickets.

we had them the same time last year and there was over 400 before half time within 20 mins of the start of the game there was hardly anyone there

It's correct that not many stick it out to the end of the game, but the large majority would have played a youth match in the morning, arriving at their respective venues at 9.30am, some leaving home well before 9am, before travelling straight to Notcutts Park for the photo shoot at 1.00pm. It's probably fair to say that after 5 or 6 hours, mums and dads are keen to get the youngsters and themselves home. There is no deliberate attempt to manipulate the attendance figure and our gateman took an average amount for a league fixture from our paying customers. The kitchen however took £270, the soft drinks and confectionery counter another £130 plus increased raffle and programme sales. And who knows, maybe, just maybe, a few of these 'non regular attendees' may well come again on Wednesday for the Suffolk Premier Cup tie versus Needham Market.
