Taken from clubs site;

Kirkley & Pakefield football club confirms that Jon is standing down as first team manager due to family & work commitments.

The club would like to thank Jon for all his efforts since being in the position and a great job the manangement team did last season once the reality of the cost cutting process took place.

Jon has made some great and exciting signings during the close season and hands over a quality squad of players to his successor.

The club chairman has been inundated within the last 24 hours from people expressing an interest in the job. The clubs hopes to annouce Jon's Successor over the weekend.

We wish Jon and his family well for the future

The first team are away on saturday at Haverhill under the charge of Marty Hubble.

The club will announce the new manager via our press officer
Dave Woodruff once all is confirmed

I think Jon has to be congratulated for carrying on in the job once the 'cost cutting exercise' was implemented. What the whole exercise brought to the fore was the lack of player loyalty that was showed by those who walked away from the club. The word mercenary comes to mind.
