BRANTHAM ATHLETIC V MILDENHALL TOWN
After seven straight wins the press were reporting Manager Tony Hall’s hopes to be 12 points clear by Christmas, form book and ambitions suddenly took a down turn with just two wins from the last five with 12 goals conceded and two defeats, the latest in midweek when they leaked six without reply. Their visitors haven’t been in sparkling form either with just one win and a draw from their last seven games and 17 goals conceded. Both will see this as a big, big game as they attempt to shake off some indifferent performances.

DEREHAM TOWN V CRC
The Magpies have been unable to sustain their early season promise and have slipped to 5th in the table having played more games than all those above them. November saw them play just two league fixtures, both lost and in midweek they were hit for five by Norwich City in the County Cup. Their visitors are just four points behind having played the same games but they travel with an impressive away record having won seven and drawn one of their ten away days, including a 3-1 win at Wisbech last time out.

GORLESTON V STANWAY ROVERS
Just a point separates these at the start of play with the hosts having played two games less, similar goal records and identical win records indicates this is going to be a close affair. Rover’s away record looks better than the Greens home tally although the hosts have won their last two while the travellers have lost their last three, two of those on the road where they have conceded seven goals. The current form guide would indicate the home side are favourite to take all three points from the encounter but the visitors will travel expecting to take something from the game.

KIRKLEY & PAKEFIELD V FC CLACTON
The home side’s results at Walmer Road are not impressive, especially when stacked against The Essex Seasiders record on the road. They have picked up results from their last two home games and against mid-table sides plus running CRC close in a nine goal thriller at The Abbey Stadium last week. FCC have got used to playing at home rather than travelling as this is their first away day in five games. Their last outing saw them collect maximum points at Newmarket but this may be a more difficult encounter as Paul Tong continues to rebuild The Royals.

NEWMARKET TOWN V GT. YARMOUTH TOWN
These two have accrued just 15 points between them, conceded 133 goals while scoring 40. They sit in the bottom two spots with the visitor’s five points adrift of their hosts. I don’t think anyone should underestimate the importance of this game to both clubs; they will be desperate to collect something here. An away day win, something the Bloaters have yet to achieve in eleven attempts would close that gap while a win for The Jockeys would open it enough to require three wins from Yarmouth to catch them which would be a huge ask in their present form.

NORWICH UNITED V ELY CITY
The Planters current form is decent although they only managed three games in November winning two and sharing the points in the other but they face a side whose record has been improving week on week and it’s is doubtful any side would fancy playing them by choice at the moment. Ely’s unbeaten league run is now 15 and a bad day at present seems to be a draw and they have yet to fail to score in a league match. No doubt the home side will be up for the challenge, they are just three points adrift of their visitors and with a goal difference of just minus three on them so a two clear goal win would see them swap places.

WIVENHOE TOWN V WALSHAM Le WILLOWS
Another six pointer here, a home win would see The Dragons gain at least one place in the table with the Suffolk Seasiders idle, while a win on the road for The Willows would put them within two points of their host with six games in hand. The home side have won four of their last six at Broad Lane and will see their home form as a platform for survival. The visitors have won just once on the road and that against the basement club in early November, their goals against column is as good as any around them but they are the league’s second lowest scorers.

WOODBRIDGE TOWN V HAVERHILL ROVERS
Another two sides with little separating them in the table, the home side have a two point advantage and a superior goal difference; both had good mid-week wins over sides around them in the table. The Woodpeckers home record is marginally better than that of the Rovers away so there is little to choose between them. The home side have the incentive that a win could lift them into a top ten spot while and away win would see them climb above their hosts. Could be another tight affair here.

WROXHAM V HADLEIGH UNITED
Six appeal! Any betting men going to the bookies to put money on one of these scoring six goals? Between them they have been involved in games scoring or conceding six goals on eight occasions. Wroxham have won by six on three occasions, Hadleigh twice, but the visitors have shipped six three times. The visitors will be on a high after scoring six in midweek against their hosts nearest challengers to add to a 3-1 win last Saturday. The Yachtsmen are almost business like in their performance, currently on a six match unbeaten run and having scored six in two of those games. Wonder if anyone will predict a 0-0 draw.
