Well thats what i thought of the match @ the Millfield last night!!!
5 - 0 down & not a single effort to test Arron Benstead in the visitors goal with 65 minutes on the clock was enough for me and several others as we made our way out of the ground. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed
I see this morning that we must have had one effort as we pulled a goal back. cheers cheers cheers

As a floating supporter living in mid Suffolk, i did think about coming to watch the Hadleigh v Haverhill match , but getting in late from work mean't I would have not made it until midway through the first half. Seems from the result and match report Hadleigh were not at the races for this match. Did see from report on their website Lee McGlone was on the bench, I would why ???, is he going to be the star man when both teams meet on Saturday in a league match

You should have gone 10 miles up the road & watched Cornard v Felixstowe & Walton, two young teams playing good football. Not many places have the home manager going around the pitch at kick off collecting the gate money & dishing out the programmes, but I remember him selling the golden goal tickets when he was manager of Braintree !

No, unfortunately i can't make it on Friday but i do agree with you that the real derbies that attract good attendances are the Gorleston v Great Yarmouth games. I suppose an added titbit to Fridays game is the return of Mr Derbyshire.

Dellwood
I thought "Mr S " at Cornard had sold the Club ?????
"Adnams & 4-4-2 "
As for Hadleigh's result, as a neutral football watcher, I wonder what the hardened "Hadleigh Supporters " must be thinking when the Manager decides to leave a "high profile " player ( McGlone ) on the bench , would he have made a difference to the score if he had come on who knows, or as I have already said, was it a tactical move as Hadleigh are at home to Haverhill this Saturday, but as Hadleigh are at the wrong end of the League table, a run in the League cup may have kept the Supporters happy
Be interesting to see what the Hadleigh squad is on Saturday, all will be revealed when its posted on their match report I assume

The match was so bad the HUFC scribe couldnt think of anything to put on the website so they copied the Haverhill Rovers match report! Smile
Another 2 players come back to haunt us in Arron Benstead & Jack Wilkinson, bet they are looking forward to Saturday already.
I have to agree with 4-4-2 comments with regard big ego's, both on the pitch & off it from what i have seen. Could this be where things are going wrong?
Out of all cup competions before xmas & below midtable. affraid

Hmm.............................. Have just looked on the HUFC website to see if the two first team players left out of the first team Saturday played for the Reserves instead. The answer to that is NO, which just goes to prove that they think they are to good for the Reserves & are, as we all thought hear for just one thing, THE MONEY!!! Embarassed

And does that surprise you when players will play on a Sunday for nothing and pay subs as well, but on a Saturday obviously it's all about the £££££££££££££££££££

Well that is what i thought of two of the Match Officials yesterday at The Millfield. Allowing themselves to be conned for the penalty & then a blatant off-side that led to Mildenhall's second goal.
That said, Mr. Crawford should take the blame for the defeat as he left the latest player to sign an FA Contract and from what we have all heard Hadleigh's best player over the past few weeks sitting on the bench.
It wasn’t until Mr. Cowan came on 10 minutes into the second half that Hadleigh looked like getting anything from this game.
Having got the two goals back & looking the most likely to take the three points Mr. Crawford takes off the leading scorer & before we no it we are 4-2 down!
Oh & after playing just 35 minutes I see on the Ridgeons site that Mr. Cowan was MOTM.
Be very interesting to see what the line up is on New Years Eve at Newmarket!!
4-4-2, we need our lucky Mascot back. santa

Definite penalty, keeper lucky to stay on pitch especially after raising his hands and pushing players after the incident, second goal was not even close to offside, at least 3/4 yards on and this was from a perfect view. Static back four allowed players to get in behind on numerous occasions in the first period and should have been further out of site than a two nil lead - the officials were good and even the substitute assistant referee a local lad from Hadleigh who was covering the MTFC back four and could have been lapse but did a good job. Credit to Stuart for the change as they got back in and had a very good 25 minute spell against a team that only had one recognised centre half playing and he went off ill shortly after, then the last ten mins was even with both teams having good chances but the first half alone was the difference in the game not the officials or management IMO rightly or wrongly as it is a game of opinions.

Adnams no u can not have your lucky masscot back santa until you sort yourselfs out . well i read on your web-site what i must say must of been writern by your first team come ressies and u18 manager how good these players are or is it just a case of telling them what they want to hear to get them to sign a contract and stitch them up cause if that is not the case why arnt they playing ?????Were is mr jopling now mr banyar i also see alot of other players missing after the big write ups on your own web-site perhaps we should call it the millfeild triangle ???And always thought you win or loose as a team but by reading your reports it seem like your defence gets the blame most weeks WHY, also noticed only 3 subs named for the first team yet you have 3 senior sides with well over 100 players signed is it a case they just dont want to play for the first team ????? .And as for applefootball saying what he did ,well if you dont play your better players who are inform and care about the club take off your leading club goal scorer when you are at 2-2 and then go on and loose 4-2 who can you blame maybe the tea lady HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS lol!

Wish i could answer you're questions 4-4-2, but only our Manager knows the answer to them, well hopefully he does!!!
I think the reason for us never having a settled side is that Mr. Crawford is trying to keep everyone happy by trying to give everyone a game, but this jsut doesnt help the side as a whole.
Having watched Saturdays match against Mildenhall i expected alot more from the team after what we have all been told about performances against Brantham, Wroxham & CRC over the past couple of weeks, how very dissappointing it was. Sad
But then this has been the story of our season, on a high one moment & down low the next.
I cant wait for next season for Mr. Ross to be fit, because from what i have heard coming from Ther Manager about this player he is one hell of a signing & is going to set the league alight, just like all his other signings!!!!! Very Happy

As for Applefootballs comments, if i were in his position i would be saying that it was a defo penalty & the player was a good 4/5 Yds on side!!! Very Happy
