The Madness that is the FA
They wanted to join as Team Braintree with no crossover of players between Braintree Town and Team Braintree, but the FA wouldn't allow them to join as TB. But they will alllow them into Div One as Braintree Topwn Reserves, although there will still be no crossover of players, then BTR can apply to change their name to TB for next season and be eleted as TB ... Make sense???

IRON RESERVES ELECTED INTO THURLOW NUNN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
Braintree Reserves take the step up from - the reserve league to Division One
Braintree Town FC Reserves were elected into the Eastern Counties Football League First Division at this (Saturday) afternoon's Annual General Meeting. Iron's reserves will play in an eighteen team Division One that will also include: Brightlingsea Regent, Cambridge University Press, Cornard United, Debenham LC, Downham Town, Fakenham Town, Great Yarmouth Town, Halstead Town, Ipswich Wanderers, Long Melford, March Town United, Newmarket Town, Saffron Walden Town, Stowmarket Town, Swaffham Town, Team Bury and Whitton United. Chairman Lee Harding was delighted with the news: "As founder members back in 1935 and champions on three occasions, we are very proud of our history with the League and delighted to be renewing our membership of what will be known as the Thurlow Nunn League next season. Under the guidance of Reserve Team Manager Mark Sansom, our successful reserve side have finished as overall Reserve League champions for the past two seasons and it is our hope and expectation that our up and coming players will be able to acquit themselves well at the new level."
Mark Sansom's side will be at home to a Grays Athletic XI on Saturday 4th August in a pre-season friendly, with kick-off at 3pm.

Re: Cup Draws 2012/2013
Perhaps its because they have a nice ground ? It wasn't that many years ago when they got gates just in double figures. Then Chris Symes came along & the rest as they say is history.

So, the League Cup is now to be the Red Insure Cup, any idea why?

Re: Cup Draws 2012/2013
We are again informed that to save time at the AGM, the cup draws were made on an earlier date.
When the draw is broken down into counties it appears the early round draws are clearly regionalised. ie...

Similar formats reflect the First division and Youth Cup draws
Is anyone 'in the know' on how these draws are constituted? I fully understand, (and agree with), the need to limit mileage, as most of all cup matches will be played midweek
But does anyone know what the process is?
How are the preliminary round teams chosen?
Are they selected from teams who went out in early rounds last year?
If so are teams seeded as well as regionalised?
This is not intended to be a critisism, merely a query

Re: Cup Draws 2012/2013
As i had no idea how the draws were made(drawn) i posted on facebook and twitter that it appears to be some kind of regional system that was used ,but i had no reply from the powers that be....With that in mind i then posted that is was fixed and within 18 minutes received a personal message stating that my account will be withdrawn if posts not deleted
I am still waiting for Mr Zuckerberg or Mr Dorsey to suspend my accounts and my posts still remain on said sites.
So if you were the person who sent me a pm on facebook and you happen to be reading this...you can kiss my f***ing a**e.
By the way you are correct i do support Gorleston and will be very happy to meet you in the future, but don't think i will be as polite as i am on here.
