Is it worth it ?
With AFC Sudbury getting turned over 10-0 at home is it worthwhile letting reserve teams into the league, play them on a Saturday and you can see what happens but in mid week with no first team game then it's totally different

It is for Cornard as they may do the double against them if they Sat fixtures!

Re: Is it worth it ?
10 years ago the Premier Division of the then Ridgeons League had 22 teams (42 game season). This season of the 22 teams from 2003, 11 teams have left, two were reserve sides (Histon & Kings Lynn) ejected, Two moved sideways ( Wisbech Town & Maldon Town ) one merged Tiptree United with Maldon and six promoted.
Coming down from level four as relegated teams NIL. Hardly surprising Division One struggles for sides when half your Premier Division clubs depart for various reasons, yet it would appear relegated clubs from Step 4 are not in this catchment area, strange really as they are when they are promoted.

Re: Is it worth it ?
It would appear that the problem isn't helped by the fact that there are not many clubs in the Step 7 Leagues willing or able to make the difficult decision of stepping up to take their clubs forward. Obviously the financial burdens of doing so is one of the main reasons for holding back.

Just to make sure that everyone knows there has been virtually no major changes to the AFC Sudbury Reserves?under 21's side since the start of the season, certainly none of what is being suggested between Saturdays and midweek. In truth the players are young and inexperienced at this level.
Was it right or wrong for the club to get the side in the league only time will tell.

Re: Is it worth it ?
It does seem strange that the 2 midweek fixtures played by AFC Sudbury they have picked up 4 pts from a possible 6 & from the 6 Saturday fixtures they have only picked up 3 pts from a possible 18 pts?

Which part of "virtually no major changes to the AFC Sudbury Reserves?under 21's side since the start of the season, certainly none of what is being suggested between Saturdays and midweek" do you not understand?

Re: Is it worth it ?
There were only 5 starters v Saffron Walden who started and lost to Dereham 2 games previous.
And 5 who were starters who lost v Team Bury 2 games before that.
May b they have just got a big squad like Man City and like to rotate.

"And that's if they were who they say they were"
Are insinuating that there were players playing under assumed names?

Re: Is it worth it ?
Busky, you appear very protective of your statement re changes but only 1 player has started all 7 games for which the records have been updated and 22 players have been used in those seven games which would indicate some fairly serious changes.
I don't believe players are playing under false names or contract players are being used but I can understand clubs who feel aggrieved when it appears you put out a seemingly strong side in one game and what would appear a significantly weaker side in another.
Be interesting to see how many other clubs across the nation playing at step 7 of the pyramid have only one player who has appeared in every game. I'm guessing not many!
If AFC's intention was to use Division One as a trialist set up perhaps they should have mentioned that at the AGM and just maybe there would have been a different outcome on the vote!

Re: Is it worth it ?
I am just pointing out the majority the players AFC Reserves/Under 21's have used are totally inexperienced at this level and if a change has been made it has been to try out another youngster, and it seems that a couple of the more experienced amongst them are not totally committed to this level so that is why results have been so varied.

I have had to have a chuckle about what is being said about this article .
I think if everyone is going to be honest is a case of " knew this would happen" ( comments etc ) with people having their right to stand up for their respective Clubs
Does however make you wonder with the figures/facts H.U.F.C Supporter Happy days
