Big Crowd at Stowmarket?

According to the league's results email there was an attendance of 514 at Stowmarket tonight. Is that right? Was there some sort of promotion going on?

To answer my own question, Full Time has it as 51. That's more like it! I thought the person who counted heads at SWFC had changed clubs

Surely SWFC cant be as bad as what Histon used to be. They used to magic some incredible numbers.

It's a bit of a running gag on here. And you know what they say, if you keep repeating something it becomes fact.

Can't answer your question, the amazing thing is  they don't appear to travel in the League we had 53 v Saffron Walden and 62 v Afc Sudbury Reserves on consecutive Tuesdays at home. (Played AFC first) but they (Walden) get 200 plus for a league game and 600 plus for a cup game.

We must of had about 15 parents and loved ones of that gate, which means Walden only took 38 to us.

When Walden played Braintree Res Away on the tue night we had played Ilford away on Sunday 2 days before in the FA cup which about 50 travelled to & so 38 away fans actually sounds more than i would of thought.
In fact i think most clubs at level 6 would be pretty happy with 38 travelling fans for a midweek away fixture!

Those in the know will know that FA Cup games gate monies are shared between the 2 clubs & gate numbers sent to the FA & therefore it would
be very stupid to bump up the attendance as a club would end up paying out 100's of extra pounds!
In fact a lot of clubs actually lower gate numbers in FA competitions to keep hold of extra money!
Also we have to pay V.A.T on gate money so once again it would be very stupid to bump up attendances League or Cup.
And being a CBS status club all our finances are strictly scrutinised by Sports Direct down to the last pound.
So increasing gate figures would mean paying out a lot of extra money which the club has not got & so i hope this answers any questions!
What happened in the past God only knows & who knows what benefit it may of gained if true.
But one thing for sure it certainly don't happen now.

This game was massively promoted around the town plus Welwyn brought 100+

Ha I remember Histon crowds. We used to count how many were in the ground and see how far away the figure was in the results table. We were convinced they used to count the people in the top deck of the bus as it went over the bridge.
I remember physically counting one year and there were 30 inside the ground mid way through the first half, four of them were Histon committee and 20 were from Felixstowe. The crowd declared at 84!
