Wroxham ground news

It was announced on Radio Norfolk tonight that the club have secured a 21 year extension to the lease on their ground at Trafford Park.This will make long overdue ground improvements economically viable and allow the club to apply for promotion from the Ridgeons league,which they now intend to do this season. Makes the title race a bit more interesting....!

Great news for the club who have been one of the most successful teams over the past 15 years or so in the Eastern Counties League. Will be a big miss to the League if they achieve their goal this season.

Think Wroxham will now push on to win the League now they have this news, although I personally think they will be a loss to the Eastern Counties League, but if they can join the likes of AFC Sudury, Needham Market in the Ryman's League that should made for interesting matches in East Anglia

I doubt Wroxham would be in Ryman League should they achieve the title / promotion. More likely route is Southern League. Lot of work to be done at Trafford Park in next three months to get grading but its good to see Eastern Counties sides wanting to progress. I hope Brantham also decide to apply.

From Mr Cooke's interview in the press it didn't read that the intention was to 'go up' this season more about development of the ground for the future.

Maybe, just maybe, Mr Cooke was 'erring on the side of caution'!!

Wroxham announced in the programme v Wisbech yesterday that they are applying for promotion this season should they finish in a high enough league position.

Hope they get it they have earned it over the years,wonder if the tv gantry will stay?

Not in it's present form I wouldn't think. It took a direct hit from a wayward clearance yesterday causing the guy with the camera to turn a bit green!

Must say he looked a bit nervous as he climbed the ladder after half time......at least he kept three points of contact at all times.
